Location: 111 Fairgrounds Road, Rolla, MO 65401. Schedule: Monday‑Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Salary: Base salary range listed. Years‑of‑service adjustments or shift differentials may increase salary.
As an Environmental Program Assistant/Analyst for the Oil and Gas Unit, you will work with oil and gas industry officials and state/federal agencies to improve Missouri’s groundwater and air quality, support implementation of the Revive Economic Growth and Reclaim Orphaned Wells Act (REGROW) of 2021, and perform office and field inspections, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting for oil and gas permitting and exploration operations.
Schedule and conduct oil and gas inspections and investigations at facilities and non‑commercial sites.
Prepare accurate reports and conduct follow‑up investigations for compliance.
Provide compliance and technical assistance to the regulated community and public.
Ensure consistent application of the Oil and Gas Production Law and implementing regulations.
Interpret and implement Missouri’s rules and policies.
Coordinate with internal and external partners including state and federal agencies, private producers, contractors and landowners.
Conduct inspections and witness mechanical integrity testing of oil and gas producers and landowners.
Use ArcGIS Pro and Microsoft Office Suite to manage multiple databases and applications.
Respond toponder inquiries.
Perform other work as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
Environmental Science knowledge to protect and improve environmental quality.
Adaptability and critical thinking to address multiple demands in a changing environment.
Analytical thinking/problem‑solving using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
Oral and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in biology, law, or closely related field; 0‑4 years experience with oil and gas well drilling and production technologies.
Special Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Experience with ArcGIS Pro and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience managing data and database maintenance.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel frequently, including overnight.
Lack of post‑secondary education will not be used as the sole basis for denying consideration to any applicant.
