**Job Description*****The Burke Museum* has an outstanding opportunity open for a *Temporary* Informatics Technical Project Manager.**This position (Payroll Title: Pro Staff Temp Position (E S)) provides overall project management to support implementation of new collections management systems (CMSs) and associated digital asset management policies for Burke Museum Research and Collections. This person will coordinate with both collections and IT staff to implement the first phase of developing a digital asset management system for the Burke Museum, including advising on collections data standardization and preparation for data migration; ensuring a smooth workflow leading up to and through data migration, including development and implementation of new policies, and documentation and training for new systems; and acquiring appropriate software licenses (e.g., vendor-based CMSs) and hardware to ensure data security and integrity. This person will also collaborate with other UW departments including UW IT, CISO, and the library system to ensure alignment of data policies and security practices.*This temporary, full-time position begins upon hire and is expected to last for one year.***65% Coordinate CMS Migration*** Advise staff on data standardization* Support workflow development for migration* Train on new systems* Document migration process* Negotiate and coordinate with CMS vendor**25% Support Collections Informatics*** Liaise with external software and hardware vendors on maintenance contracts, system upgrades, data migrations, and deployment of new features* Lead strategic efforts in raising funds in support of new and on-going needs including the digitization of collections, short and long-term collections improvement projects involving informatics, including developing grant proposals* Train staff on CMS management and use**5% Develop Policies for Digital Asset Management*** Align policies with all Burke collections, and UW IT and CISO* Establish data interoperability standards between Burke collections to improve accessibility* Develop plan for public access to collections information**5% Administrative Tasks*** Manage procurement process for software and hardware* Other duties as assigned**Minimum Requirements:** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in museum studies, informatics, or computer science, and 3 years of experience managing or developing for RDBMS platforms. *Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.***Desired Qualifications:*** 2 years demonstrated experience as project manager* Knowledge of and experience with museum and/or cultural heritage organizations' operations and data management practices* Knowledge of Darwin Core and Archival Standards* Experience managing and implementing complex ETL projects* Experience managing and implementing complex ETL projects* Knowledge of vendor-based collections management systems (e.g., Arctos, Specify, EMu), and experience managing relational databases for collections management* Ability to advise on data migration including automated data normalization, data mapping, code tables, permissions, licensing, and interoperability within and between vendor-based systems* Familiarity with digital asset management plans for collections data* Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining documentation of workflows for data management, including data security and integrity* Experience managing and implementing complex ETL projects* Experience managing digital assets and large data stores* Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information* Nimble critical thinking ability and collaborative mindset* Ability to work across a variety of operating systems (Unix, Mac OS, Windows).***\*\*\*\*A COVER LETTER IS REQUIRED IN APPLYING FOR THIS POSITION.\*\*\*\******Conditions of Employment:** ●
