Overview As the Quality Control Technician II, you will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and play a pivotal role in the quality control team and will function as an internal and external auditor for the facility based on company requirements. The Quality Control technician will be responsible for conducting inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
This role requires working closely with the Production and Research & Development departments. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of quality control principles, measurement tools, and inspection techniques, with the ability to document and communicate findings effectively.
Responsibilities
Perform inspections and analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods in accordance with established procedures and specifications
Accurately record and maintain detailed inspection results, test data, and deviations in logs and quality documentation systems
Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and findings, including reports, logs, and other documentation
Identify and document nonconformances; elevate issues to appropriate departments for resolution
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities related to product quality and process enhancements
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Production, R&D, and Quality Assurance, to ensure consistent product quality
Calibrate equipment used for testing and ensure proper maintenance
Assist in training production staff and new techniciansContribute to the development of SOPs and work instructions
Identify and report safety issues related to Quality Assurance Manager
Requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of inspection quality control experience in an industrial environment (chemical manufacturing a plus)
Working knowledge of inspection methods, measurement tools, and analytical testing techniques
Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and electronic data systems
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills
Understanding of industry standards, regulations, and company policies related to quality
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
Ability to evaluate data, identify patterns, draw conclusions, and resolve quality issues
Ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations
Ability to manage documentation and track testing specifications
Interest in cars and car care, a plus!
Work Environment
This role requires prolonged standing and walking throughout the warehouse facility with exposure to raw materials, loud noises, and varying warehouse temperatures
Proper PPE and adherence to dress code is required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs routinely
