We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined
Sub-Assembly Technician
to join our manufacturing/shipping team. The role is responsible for the accurate assembly of components and sub‑systems used in final product builds. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, metal fabrication processes, and a keen awareness of how the final product is expected to perform in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical sub‑components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
Inspect and test parts to ensure proper function and quality before integration into the final assembly.
Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve issues or discrepancies in assembly processes.
Maintain accurate records of assembly steps and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Safely operate a variety of tools and equipment used in sub‑assembly tasks.
Adhere to all company safety protocols and quality standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and sub‑assembly techniques.
Working knowledge of metal fabrication practices and tools.
Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
Clear understanding of how the product is expected to perform in the field and how sub‑assembly contributes to that performance.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly or a related field.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial assembly environment.
Limited but functional knowledge of diesel engine components and air system operations.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. regularly.
Standing, bending, and working with hands for extended periods.
