Business Development Representative (Full‑time)
Lakeside Behavioral Health System invites you to apply for the Business Development Representative role. This full‑time position focuses on creating and maintaining referral relationships with clinicians, hospitals, and other agencies to refer patients in need of behavioral health services.
Company Overview Since 1969, Lakeside has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid‑South region. The 365‑bed facility is one of the largest free‑standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States. Located on a serene 37‑acre campus in northeast Shelby County, Lakeside serves children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors, treating a range of disorders including bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illness and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse.
Responsibilities The Business Development Representative provides Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Marketing Department. The primary objective is to establish strong relationships with clinicians, hospitals and other agencies that refer patients in need of behavioral health services. The representative participates in the Account Management system, assessing the needs of the customer and making the required number of marketing contacts to each account, to develop and maintain a long‑term referral relationship that will generate a continuous flow of admissions to meet hospital census objectives. Responsibilities include planning events, providing tours, performing referral source in‑services, acting as a liaison between the referral source and the hospital, and seeking out new business development opportunities for the hospital.

Qualifications Education:
Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Marketing/Business preferred; Associate’s degree required
Experience:
Prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting
Licensure/Certification:
LPC, LCSW, LMSW, RN or LPN preferred
Knowledge:
Prefer knowledge of the Memphis and Southwest Tennessee behavioral health marketplace, insurance plans, target markets and referral sources, psychiatric and chemical dependency diagnoses & symptomology, age specific programming
