Position Responsibilities
Provide strategic intelligence and engage potential external customers to identify, create, and shape strategic new business opportunities (CRAD).
Advise BTI leadership and technology teams on new business objectives and goals.
Lead regularly scheduled new business meetings with BTI technology teams to review campaign activities and status.
Develop and disseminate status of new business capture and forecasts (e.g., opportunity pipeline).
Chair external new business Gate Review Board and facilitate gate decisions and authorize funding for new business activities (marketing assist, bid & proposal).
Assist in preparing proposals by developing themes and discriminators and ensuring correct members are on the team.
Establish, maintain, and expand network to address customer needs and keep lines of communication open.
Lead strategic external capture customer engagement planning for exhibits and sponsorships.
Provide guidance for external new business using lessons learned from win/loss feedback.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, science, marketing, business, or a related field.
3+ years of experience working with the U.S. Government acquisition process.
3+ years of experience in business development and strategy in aerospace or equivalent industries.
3+ years of experience in business development, including research, planning, marketing, execution, and customer retention.
3+ years of experience in new business development, including shaping, proposal writing, and winning government contracts.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (predominantly domestic).
Experience communicating with technical experts and explaining complex technical concepts to non‑technical business users.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (beyond Bachelor’s) in engineering, science, marketing, or business.
Technical/experience background in Aerospace Research & Technology, flight testing, test & evaluation.
Experience fostering relationships with DoD customers (e.g., AFRL, ONR, ARL, DARPA), NASA, and/or the FAA, particularly its Technology organization.
Knowledge of or experience with government funding and defense acquisition processes.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Secret preferred). U.S. Citizenship required.
Travel 25% domestic and international travel.

Pay & Benefits Competitive base pay and variable compensation. Pay ranges: Senior ($120,700 – $163,300); Lead ($153,000 – $207,000).
