Neighborhood House in Louisville, KY, is hiring a full-time, non-exempt Youth Advocate, an experienced professional focused on connecting K-12 youth with school systems for better support, utilizing Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) to build trusting relationships, and guiding academic and personal growth for youth in the community. The role involves providing individual support, advocating within educational settings, coordinating services, and promoting positive youth development through SEL activities, requiring compassion and flexibility to help youth succeed in various aspects of their lives.

Key Responsibilities

Advocacy and Support : Act as a dedicated advocate for youth

Collaboration with Schools : Work closely with school systems to encourage increased connection and collaboration

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) : Design and implement SEL lessons, activities, and programs

Relationship Building : Build trusting relationships with youth, families, educators, and community

Program Development : Develop and facilitate workshops, group activities, or one-on-one mentoring sessions to promote positive youth development.

Resource Connection : Identify and connect youth and families to relevant community resources, services, and opportunities that support their well-being and success.

Data and Reporting : Monitor and document youth progress, program outcomes, and feedback to assess effectiveness and inform future initiatives.

Crisis Intervention : Provide support and guidance to youth in crisis, collaborating with appropriate professionals and resources as needed.

Direct Youth Care : Immersion into the program: Provide direct care and support to youth during program hours.

After-school Engagement : Facilitate safe, engaging environments during after-school programs and recreational outings.
