ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Creates and designs lesson plans, instruction, and assessment aligned to Arizona Academic Standards.

Communicates with parents in a timely manner.

Presents accurate information.

Is highly qualified to teach the content area.

Uses content material appropriate to students, content area, and academic standards.

Uses resource materials, procedures, and models related to the lesson.

Deals with students in a fair and impartial manner, promoting positive self‑image/concept.

Models, requires, and promotes a feeling of mutual respect and courtesy.

Creates an atmosphere conducive to verbal and/or nonverbal activity.

Provides constructive feedback/criticism to students.

Follows a logical sequence of instructions.

Plans instruction and activities which address identified objectives.

Relates and/or integrates materials to other disciplines.

Organizes resources to facilitate the achievement of objectives.

Provides focus for the students at the beginning of lessons.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications for this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum of 3.Float years secondary teaching or professional experience preferred.

Demonstrated expertise in the relevant artistic discipline preferred.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATE

The teacher must have a valid Arizona teaching certificate for the position to which the individual is assigned.

The teacher must be able to obtain either a Provisional SEI endorsement, a full ESL endorsement, or a full Bilingual endorsement.

The teacher must be able to become highly qualified in the core content for the position to which the individual is assigned Authorization

Current and valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Strong writing, literacy, and communication skills; uses effective communication strategies to interact with a variety of audiences.

Bilingual communication is beneficial.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must be proficient with technology (e.g., email, Google Suites, grading software, instructional platforms, etc.).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must see and hear continuously and speak frequently.

Must vary between standing, sitting, or walking.

Must move quickly when needed (student safety).

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must tolerate a high‑paced working environment.

Must multitask effectively.

Must remain flexible with work hours.
