Location : Stuarts Draft

Pay range: $115,000 - $200,000 (dependent on education and experience)

Responsibilities

Assist production and maintenance with various types of control system and process issues from an engineering perspective with an emphasis on maintaining and improving reliability and productivity of systems.

Provide technical assistance and resolution when automation problems are encountered in the production environment.

Provide technical expertise and solutions for Industrial Information Technology aspects of the business.

Complete projects as assigned and within the objectives and scope designated by the Maintenance and Reliability Manager.

Manage the Electrical Technician group and prioritize controls improvements.

Provide vision and development for the industrial controls that support business needs and associates.

Apply professional concepts in creative ways in working on assignments.

Plan, organize, schedule, and provide reports as needed to complete assignments.

Assist NPD Engineers on new product development.

Manage Capital Projects using standard project management techniques. Request capital using the Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) process to purchase custom equipment as well as commercially available equipment from a variety of suppliers.

Demonstrate solid judgment within broadly defined guidelines.

Provide guidance to hourly associates on projects.

Provide technical guidance and direction to maintenance and subcontractor personnel to ensure accurate and efficient job completion.

Complete project work related to cost savings efforts or improvements, replace obsolete components or equipment, initiate and manage cost reductions and process improvement projects, identify cost reduction opportunities, estimate cost impact, research available solutions and implement.

Ensure that Hollister is prepared in the event of disaster to recover software and programming; ensure availability of spare parts for critical machine components.

Review existing equipment and identify modifications that improve functional reliability, reduce waste and downtime, and/or reduce maintenance parts costs.

Collect, analyze and present engineering data to evaluate projects.

Solve complex problems with in-depth evaluation of factors.

Participate in safety reviews of new equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and Hollister safety standards.

Display a sense of urgency and support for Hollister and site initiatives.

Evaluate industrial technology, standards, and availability of commercial components and equipment to analyze/recommend vendors and prepare bid specifications.

Identify, evaluate, and introduce new technology to existing processes to maximize process effectiveness.

Be responsible for achieving competency in all identified skill requirements outlined in the associated training profile for the position.

Qualifications

8-12 years of overall experience required.

Engineering project experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.

Familiarity with industrial controls equipment including Siemens S7, Allen Bradley, Control Logics, 505, and Rockwell PLCs.

Creation and interpretation of electrical drawings and schematics proficiency.

Microsoft Office, intermediate to expert level user in all applications.

CAD experience preferred.

Specialized skills/technical knowledge: proficiency in industrial controls, electrical drawings, CAD, and Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting; ability to interface with a computer for long periods of time; frequently lift up to 20 pounds; frequent movement over large manufacturing floor areas; occasional exposure to oily/dirty, dusty, hot/cold extreme temperatures, and noisy environment; occasional work with high voltage systems; regular use of PPE (hearing, eye, head, feet, hands, and general body protective clothing and gear); work on elevated platforms, use ladders and lifts; operate production and maintenance-related equipment and machinery; use electronic instruments, hand tools, and power tools; flexible work schedule with varying start/stop times across all shifts as needed; strong communication skills — communicates effectively to all facets of the organization; able to shape the outcome of corporate-driven projects as a team member.
