Propane Service Technician *2,000 Sign on Bonus*
This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign‑on bonus. Hourly pay ranges from $28.00 to $40.00, based on experience and qualifications.
Job Summary Propane Service Technicians install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial heating systems, including tanks and piping.
Specific Responsibilities
Installs, maintains, and repairs tanks, piping, heating equipment, and appliances at commercial and residential customer sites.
Communicates in a timely manner with dispatchers, maintaining a schedule and ensuring any delays are properly communicated to the customer.
Follows a standardized format for customer repair visits: documents all installed equipment upon arrival, including make, model, serial number, fuel type, test measurements, and pictures.
Diagnoses diverse electrical and mechanical service issues.
Explains the diagnosed issue and resolution to the customer in concise terms.
Communicates company pricing and services to customers clearly.
Obtains needed replacement parts, calibrates systems per manufacturer recommendations, and thoroughly tests components.
Identifies and reports potential additional business opportunities.
Obtains customer signature and accurate contact information upon completion.
Notifies dispatchers of any issues that could affect repair or delivery.
Maintains proper stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
Maintains the company vehicle, keeping it clean and reporting mechanical issues; submits monthly inspection forms.
Participates in company‑provided training on latest industry technologies.
Executes other tasks assigned by the Propane Service Manager.
Requirements Technical Requirements
Minimum three years of propane service experience (waived for trainees).
Relevant licensing: NH Gas Fitter License (with Service Technician endorsement preferred), NH Master Plumber License, MA LP Installer, MA Master Plumber License, ME Propane/Natural Gas Technician (all waived for trainees; trainees must obtain proper credentials).
Clean MA/NH/ME driving record.
Understanding of blueprints, plans, and manuals.
Ability to pass company‑provided drug test, alcohol test, and physical exam.
Availability for flexible schedule, including weekends, overtime, and on‑call shifts.
FLSA Status This is an hourly, non‑exempt position. Electronic timekeeping of all hours worked is required.
