The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below.
In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:* Participates in assessment of patient* Collaborates with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing the patient plan of care* Follows patient’s plan of care while participating in the direct nursing care to assigned patients* Adjusts care based upon age-specific physiological needs of patients as directed by the Registered Nurse or other authorized person(s)* Maintains an accurate and relevant record of patient care* Administers medication as ordered by physician* Facilitates a safe environment* Recognizes life-threatening situations and responds appropriately* Maintains required competencies* Participates in Performance Improvement activities and monitors the quality of care* Establishes collaborative interpersonal relationships with other Health System staff* Supports patients in the practice of their cultural and spiritual beliefs within limits of the medical regimen* Actively participates in cost containment and completes accurate charging for patient services* Actively demonstrates responsibility concerning customer satisfaction, patient throughput and hospital functional capacity through compliance with the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP), if applicable* Other duties as assigned# **Minimum Qualifications**The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:## **Education and Formal Training**:* High school graduate or equivalent required* Current licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Compact state licensure## **Work Experience**:* None## **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required**:* Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills* Verbal and written skills required* Has knowledge of the age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs of the patients typically served## **Physical Requirements**:* Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs* Visual acuity for observation of patients* Long periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting* May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material* Must be able to lift 35 pounds#CFVH-2025**Required Licenses and Certifications**BLS - American Heart Association, RN - Board Of NursingCape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender IdentityFor exceptional healthcare come to Cape Fear Valley Health where caring employees are committed to integrity, patient-centeredness and excellence throughout the entire healthcare process.
