The Charleston Veterinary Referral Center is hiring a full-time Veterinary Nursing Manager to join our outstanding team!

Compensation:
$80,000 - $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule:
Primarily Monday - Friday, with flexibility for overnights & weekends as needed

CVRC, located in beautiful Charleston, SC, is one of the few VECCS Level 1 certified facilities in South Carolina! Our emergency center is staffed 24/7/365 to always support our community. Specialty services offered at CVRC include cardiology, internal medicine, medical oncology (radiation oncology coming soon!), anesthesia, neurology & neurosurgery,rehabilitation, soft tissue & orthopedic surgery. Our hospital is a newly renovated 32,000 square foot state‑of‑the‑art facility and houses MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and digital radiographs for advanced diagnostic imaging.
About the Role As the Nursing Manager, you will lead the nursing department, ensuring operational excellence and exceptional patient care. You will oversee staff development, strategic planning, and operational workflows, linking nursing activities with hospital‑wide objectives while advancing initiatives that support both the organization and the veterinary nursing profession.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
– Lead departmental planning aligned with hospital goals. Develop and adapt strategies to meet evolving needs.
Budget Oversight
– Manage labor margins and expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility while supporting staff motivation.
Staff Recruitment & Development
– Oversee hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of nursing staff to maintain high performance standards.
Patient Care Excellence
– Implement best practices and clinical governance in collaboration with medical directors. Ensure compliance with veterinary standards and policies.
Training & Professional Development
– Collaborate with Nursing Trainer and nursing leaders to address development needs and enhance patient care quality.
Leadership Coaching
– Mentor Nursing Supervisors and Nursing Trainer, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a culture of learning and excellence.
Communication
– Maintain clear, collaborative communication within the hospital.
Advocacy for the Professionitempty Say
– Promote veterinary nursing within the hospital and across the profession.
Workplace Culture
– Foster a diverse, inclusive, and professional environment.
Customer Experience
– Lead initiatives to enhance client satisfaction and address concerns.
Emergency Response
– Direct nursing actions in urgent patient care situations.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology or related field required, CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT required; CVPM or VTS preferred
4–6 years of clinical veterinary experience required, including at least 2 years in leadership
