Purpose We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Sensor & Measurement Technology team in a multinational environment. Our team develops cutting-edge sensors and measurement methodologies for NDT Global's inline inspection services for pipelines. This includes experimental work and the use of advanced simulation software, as well as the development of signal processing and data visualization tools for research and prototype analysis. Our work interfaces with all relevant processes at NDT Global. To advance the next generation of inspection services and improve existing technologies, we focus on quantitative non-destructive evaluation. Responsibilities Active participation in R&D projects as a technical team member Development of sensors and measurement methods for new inspection services. Design of analytical and numerical models for sensors and signal chain Identification and implementation of advanced sensor signal processing methods to enhance inspection system performance Development of prototype algorithms and data visualization tools Documentation in accordance with company standards Qualification and Experience Master's degree in physics, Computer Science, Acoustics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (required) A PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Acoustics, or Mathematics (preferred) Proven experience contributing to research in a scientific or technical environment Proficiency in scientific programming data analysis using MATLAB or Python Proven expertise in the field of acoustics and/or ultrasonics (preferred):
application of acoustic/ultrasonic techniques, expertise in piezo-electric transducer fundamentals modelling of piezoelectric transducers, and non-destructive testing scenarios based on ultrasonics
Experience with other non-destructive testing methods (e.g., electromagnetic techniques) (beneficial) Skillset Excellent command of English; local language skills are advantageous Strong problem-solving skills and a curious mindset. Effective communication skills and a collaborative team spirit Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies Friendly and approachable demeanor that fosters a positive work environment A genuine interest in exploring innovative ideas and concepts An exciting role working with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.
