We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Eltham Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals.
Established in 1887, the Eltham Hotel is a historic landmark and a cornerstone of the local community. Once a renowned hub for artists and intellectuals, the venue now blends its \"old-fashioned\" charm with modern hospitality. Today, we feature a bustling family bistro, a relaxed public bar, and a premium private function space. Located just minutes from Greensborough, we pride ourselves on being Eltham’s premier destination for social and corporate gatherings.
Salary $76,600 + superannuation + bonus
A day in the life of an Assistant Manager
Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of their crew
Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift
Inherent requirements
This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
About you
You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
You’ve got a current RSA and RSG/RCG as per state requirements
