Practice Overview Goodlettsville Animal Hospital is a well‑established practice serving a great community. Our five‑doctor team uses multiple exam rooms, an in‑house pharmacy, a full lab, digital radiology, ultrasound, and other advanced diagnostics to provide top‑level care for companion animals.
More about the Role We are offering a $50,000 sign‑on bonus to the ideal candidate. A pending retirement at the beginning of 2026 creates an opening for a doctor who is passionate about surgery and dentistry, in addition to wellness/sick case care. You will work three or four 10‑hour shifts per week, giving ample free time.
Our building is modern and well‑equipped, and our staff is fully trained to assist with patient care and surgical support in our in‑house labs and imaging suites. Goodlettsville is only 12 miles from downtown Nashville, with parks, shops, and historic sites nearby.
Essential Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals, diagnosing disease or injuries.
Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results.
Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
Provide counsel regarding pet end‑of‑life care.
Maintain patients’ medical records.
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
Appropriate state licensure.
Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD credentials.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds, or assist with heavier loads.
