Locums OB Hospitalist - Northern Michigan (Near Thunder Bay)Position Overview

RecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible OB/GYN for a locum tenens OB Hospitalist assignment at a local hospital in Northern Michigan , close to Thunder Bay. This is an inpatient-only opportunity providing 24-hour call coverage .

The hospital averages 100-150 deliveries per year and offers a supportive environment with pediatricians on call 24/7 .

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient OB/GYN hospitalist coverage

  • 24-hour call coverage

  • Manage labor and delivery, antepartum and postpartum patients

  • Perform OB and GYN procedures including:

    • C-sections

    • Suction D&C

    • Laparoscopy

    • Tubal ligations

    • Reading NSTs

  • Collaborate with on-call pediatric support

  • Document care in EPIC EMR

Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in OB/GYN

  • Must have performed at least 50 deliveries in the last 12 months

  • Must have completed at least 25 GYN cases in the last 12 months

  • Comfortable with inpatient-only hospitalist role

  • Eligible for Michigan licensure (or already licensed)
