About the Role
The Company is seeking a General Counsel with a strong background in corporate law, commercial contracts, data privacy, and governance, particularly within the pharma, biotech, or consulting firm industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of legal matters, including compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements. This pivotal role involves shaping the legal strategy, ensuring data privacy compliance, and providing strategic legal advice on various corporate transactions. The General Counsel will also be tasked with establishing and developing the legal department, addressing complex legal issues, and monitoring changes in laws and regulations that impact the organization.
Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' of experience in a similar role, with a preference for those with consulting firm experience. Expertise in corporate law, commercial contracts, and mergers & acquisitions is essential, as is familiarity with data privacy regulations in the biotech or life sciences sector. A background in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries is highly desirable. The role requires a candidate with strong negotiation skills, the ability to manage legal teams, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership are also mandatory.
