Now Hiring: State Director, Substance Use Programs Salary: From $140,000 Annually Job Type: Full-time Location: Chicago, IL 60636 Woodridge, IL 60517 Looking for a great opportunity to be a State Director where you can really make a difference? The State Director of Substance Use Programs will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing strategies to address substance use issues within the community. This position is responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and evaluation of programs aimed at prevention, treatment, and recovery support. The director will collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to ensure a comprehensive approach to substance use challenges. By leveraging data and best practices, the director will drive initiatives that promote public health and enhance the quality of life for individuals affected by substance use disorders. Ultimately, the goal is to create a sustainable framework that reduces substance use prevalence and supports recovery efforts across the state. The
State Director of Substance Abuse Services
is responsible for planning, directing, managing and overseeing all substance abuse services activities, including: Leading the strategic planning and implementation of statewide substance use programs. Collaborating with local, state, and federal agencies to align resources and efforts. Assessing the quality of our programming and service provision to patients and families. Assuring maintenance of standards for quality services as defined by professional bodies, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and other accrediting organizations. Supervising all program activities for all in-patient units. Supervision includes, but is not limited to, programming, interactions with patients as well as implementing new programs and in-services as needed. Designing and leading implementation of programming. Assisting with the provision of leadership and strategic planning of the services and programs offered ensuring programs meet the needs of the community and the facility's performance goals and objectives. Advocating for policies and funding that support substance use prevention and treatment initiatives. Requirements JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. The Director of Substance Abuse Services must demonstrate knowledge and skills in provision of services to a varied populations including adolescent and adult patients in an inpatient and partial hospitalization program. Education:
Doctorate in Psychology, Psy D., or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology required. Experience: 5 + years' experience working in substance abuse services in management role. Licensure/Certification:
Licensed Psychologist, Psy D., LCPC or LCSW required. CADC strongly preferred. Knowledge:
Prefer knowledge of individual and family therapy theory and practice, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management. Knowledge of theory and practice of assessments. Able to work cooperatively with other hospital staff and involved community agencies. Good organization skills, as well as oral and written communication skills. Skills:
The required skills for this role include strong leadership and communication abilities, which are essential for effectively managing teams and engaging with stakeholders. Analytical skills are crucial for evaluating program data and making informed decisions that enhance program outcomes. Additionally, knowledge of substance use treatment modalities will be applied in developing evidence-based programs that meet community needs.
