detail-oriented Health Information Clerk
to join the
Health Information Management (HIM) Department
at our Whittier campus. This is a great opportunity for professionals with medical records or healthcare administrative experience who thrive in a fast-paced environment and value accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING Required
: High School Diploma or GED Basic computer and Windows software knowledge Typing speed of at least
30 WPM Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and handle frequent interruptions Preferred: Experience in Health Information Management or a medical office Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Knowledge of medical terminology Valid California Driver’s License (if applicable to duties) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Retrieve, collect, deliver, and track medical records across hospital units Prep, scan, file, and quality-check medical records and loose documents Ensure accuracy of patient identifiers (name, MRN, account number) Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times Answer and route department phone calls professionally Follow up on missing records and ensure completion of discharged charts Clean and maintain scanning equipment per department standards Meet daily productivity and quality standards Assist physicians, staff, and ancillary departments with record requests Support departmental projects and additional duties as assigned
