Non-Invasive Cardiologist (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Non-Invasive Cardiologist provides comprehensive cardiovascular care through evaluation, diagnosis, and medical management of heart disease using non-invasive testing modalities. This role emphasizes outpatient and inpatient consultative care, preventive cardiology, and longitudinal management of cardiovascular conditions using evidence-based, patient-centered practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage patients with cardiovascular conditions including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and lipid disorders
Provide outpatient cardiology clinic care and inpatient consultation services as needed
Perform and interpret non-invasive cardiac diagnostic studies such as transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, stress testing (exercise and pharmacologic), ambulatory rhythm monitoring, and cardiac imaging as applicable
Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
Manage cardiovascular medications and monitor treatment effectiveness and safety
Participate in preventive cardiology and cardiovascular risk-reduction initiatives
Collaborate with interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, primary care, and other specialists
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, lifestyle modification, and disease prevention
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives
Supervise and educate residents, fellows, or advanced practice providers as applicable
Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program
Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowship
Board-eligible or board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease
Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
DEA registration or eligibility
Skills and Competencies
Expertise in non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostics and medical management
Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning skills
Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities
Ability to manage complex and chronic cardiovascular conditions
Commitment to evidence-based, high-quality patient care
Work Environment
Outpatient cardiology clinics, diagnostic testing laboratories, and inpatient hospital settings
Call coverage as determined by practice or service needs
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinic and hospital environments
Manual dexterity for examinations and diagnostic testing
Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for interpretation of diagnostic studies
