About the Role The Swine Nutritionist – Technical Sales & Service will play a key role in supporting IDEAL Animal Nutrition’s clients through high-quality nutritional consulting, technical service, and business development. This position is client-facing and will collaborate closely with internal team members to ensure customer success, operational efficiency, and profitability. Responsibilities include on-farm technical support, diet formulation, and engagement with both existing and prospective clients.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Business Development (75%) Provide comprehensive nutritional consulting services to IDEAL clients. Conduct on-farm visits and deliver technical support focused on diet design, performance optimization, and problem-solving. Collaborate with other IDEAL personnel on customer visits, calls, and account management. Support new business development through prospecting and relationship building. Engage with industry professionals and remain current on swine nutrition research, trends, and technologies. Research & Technical Innovation (15%) Contribute to the design and execution of IDEAL-led and customer-based research trials. Assist with research planning, management, and trial execution. Analyze and summarize research results through written reports and presentations for clients and industry audiences, as appropriate. Creative & Strategic Thinking (10%) Critically evaluate emerging challenges within the swine industry and propose practical, science-based solutions. Develop and refine innovative approaches to swine nutrition and production practices.
Other Considerations Remote position with travel required, primarily within the Midwest United States (with occasional travel beyond the region). Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs evolve. A signed non-disclosure agreement is required.
The Right Candidate Master of Science degree in Animal Science or a related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in swine nutrition and/or swine production. Strong working knowledge of complete feed and premix formulation, including relevant formulation software. Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and interact effectively with pork producers, feed mill personnel, contract growers, and other industry stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively within a small team of swine nutrition professionals while maintaining a high level of independence and self-motivation.
