Software Development Engineer, Amazon Leo
Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 low Earth orbit satellites. Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide, including consumers, businesses, and government agencies.
Key job responsibilities
Develop embedded software in Rust, C, C++, or other modern languages.
Write software to interact with micro‑controllers.
Collaborate with software and hardware teams to support board bring‑up and integration testing.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
2+ years of design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, scaling) for new and existing systems.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
Benefits Base salary range: $143,700.00 – $194,400.00 USD annually (US, WA, Redmond). Your Amazon package will also include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs); final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
