Landmark College has an opening for an academic dean to provide educational leadership and undergraduate program oversight at our student-centered and teaching-focused institution. Landmark College is an accredited college for neurodivergent learners. We are proud to be an inclusive space for students to gain a postsecondary education in the liberal arts, sciences, and applied fields.Academic offerings include an integrated general education curriculum, 15 associate pathways, nine baccalaureate majors, and a growing online program. The academic dean serves an essential role leading and supporting faculty and staff within our educational program.
The academic dean is part of a leadership team that collaborates on the strategic goals of the college and leads initiatives in their primary areas of responsibility. The successful candidate would be prepared to support faculty and programming in a range of areas including STEM, education, writing, and student success. Specific responsibilities include:
Providing leadership that empowers departments to identify and meet their own goals while also contributing to the strategic direction of the institution.
Leading recruitment, hiring, and faculty evaluation efforts to ensure high quality educational programming.
Overseeing baccalaureate majors to ensure integrity and sustainability.
Supervising integrationacrosscomprehensiveacademicsupportservicesincludingadvising, academic support services, academic outreach, and student placement.
Collaborating with deans and department chairs to manage assessment, program review, staffing, scheduling, and other academic program needs.
Producing annual operating budgets and strategic capital budget requests.
Representing the College at special events, including open houses, family weekends, accepted students’ days, and recruitment events.
Qualified candidates will have a terminal degree or comparable professional experience in education, STEM education, student success, or another field related to the appointment. Demonstrated leadership, administration, and postsecondary teaching experience are required. Knowledge of neurodiversity, special education, and/or learning differences is preferred but not required. This is a 12-month, full-time, in-person position at our Putney, Vermont campus.
Located within the broader tri-state cultural region of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Northwest Massachusetts, our beautiful southern Vermont campus is also within easy driving distance to several major cities like Boston and New York.
