Job Summary:
Vista Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Radiologist
to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting diagnostic imaging studies, consulting with referring physicians, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality standards in radiologic services. This position plays a crucial role in diagnosing and guiding treatment plans for a diverse patient population. Key Responsibilities:
Image Interpretation & Diagnosis:
Analyze and interpret X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, fluoroscopy, and other imaging studies. Provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports to referring physicians. Identify abnormalities, diagnose medical conditions, and recommend additional testing or treatment when necessary. Consultation & Collaboration:
Work closely with referring physicians to discuss imaging findings and treatment recommendations. Offer expert advice on the most appropriate imaging modalities for various clinical conditions. Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and tumor boards as needed. Patient Care & Safety:
Adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff. Communicate imaging procedures to patients and address any concerns. Monitor patients for adverse reactions during contrast-enhanced imaging studies. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Ensure high standards of image quality and diagnostic accuracy. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in peer review programs. Supervision & Training:
Provide oversight and guidance to radiologic technologists. Support the education and training of medical students, residents, and healthcare staff. Stay current with advancements in radiology through ongoing professional development. Procedure Performance (if applicable):
Conduct image-guided procedures, including biopsies, drain placements, and other interventional radiology techniques. Administer contrast agents and ensure appropriate patient monitoring. Qualifications:
Medical Degree (MD or DO)
with a specialization in Radiology. Board Certification
or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology. Valid state
medical license
and ability to obtain hospital privileges. Strong analytical, diagnostic, and communication skills. Experience in interventional radiology is a plus but not required. Experience in Breast Procedures (Preferred) Experience in Interventional Radiology (preferred)
