Sko-Die , a TMA member company, is seeking a Die Setter / Lead Operator for the Fine Blanking Department to add to our exceptional team in Morton Grove, IL. The Die Setter / Lead Operator Sets up punch presses with tooling or dies for specific jobs. Applies knowledge of layout, product design, machine setup, capacities and output, and fitting processes. Job Functions: Analyzes job travelers, work pieces, packaging instructions and blueprints to determine process, materials, machines, tooling, and sequence of Sets up progressive and compound laminations dies in various tonnage presses, following standard work Sets up ancillary equipment required for production: including conveyors, scrap handling, feed line, tooling sensors, safety devices, and stacking Instruct operators on operation of press, production process and use of conveyors or part Performs quality inspections using precision micrometers, calipers or stacking fixtures before submitting parts for job approval and for in process Investigates malfunction of machines and equipment to determine adjustments or need for Enforces safety regulations for press Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of Analyzes and resolves minor process problems as Retains last piece part and scrap strip from production die and records die condition Move, handle and/or load material to presses or defined Accurately inputs labor and quality data into data collection Drives a forklift (May) Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual (May) Run production jobs as Job Requirements: Requires a High School diploma or E.D. with a minimum of 4 years' experience in production die setting. Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate
