Overview This position is located in the Gynecology Services Department at Guthrie Army Health Clinic, Fort Drum, NY. A recruitment or relocation bonus may be authorized.

Fort Drum is a U.S. Army military reservation and census‑designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County, near the western border of northern New York. The population of the CDP portion of the base was 12,955 at the 2010 census. It is home to the 10th Mountain Division.

Fort Drum consists of 107,265 acres. Its mission includes command of active component units, providing administrative and logistical support, supporting training of almost 80,000 troops annually, and planning and supporting mobilization and training of all services in the area.

Located in the picturesque Thousand Islands Region, Fort Drum is near the Great Lakes, Adirondack Mountains, Lake Ontario, and the St. Lawrence River. The surrounding towns of Watertown and the Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties offer rich history and tradition.

We’re looking for licensed physicians who have completed residency training and are board certified or board eligible.

Responsibilities

Examine, diagnose, and treat the full spectrum of gynecologic patients, addressing routine and complex cases.

Evaluate functional and dysfunctional conditions of the female pelvis, including masses, pain, urological complaints, bleeding abnormalities, hormonal imbalances, and infections.

Conduct office‑based gynecologic procedures such as colposcopy and treatment of dysplasia.

Participate as a member of the medical treatment team by establishing rehabilitative goals, monitoring patient responses to interventions, and recommending future care strategies.

Participate in the ongoing medical education of medical students, residents, interns, and fellows by delivering lectures and demonstrations, conducting one‑on‑one consultations, and engaging in a variety of educational activities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience may include paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations. All qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, will be considered. Transcripts may be required if qualification is based on education.

Basic Requirements for Physician (Gynecology):

Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada that is accredited by a recognized accrediting body. A foreign medical degree must demonstrate equivalency to U.S. accredited schools.

Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.

Graduate Training: After obtaining a medical degree, the candidate must have at least one year of supervised clinical experience (e.g., an internship or first year of a residency program).

Residency Training: Applicants must have successfully completed an accredited residency in Gynecology and have at least four years of equivalent experience. Experience cannot substitute for required residency training.

Once selected for a Physician position, a salary quote will not be provided at the time of the initial offer. Salary determination begins after the offer is accepted, with the Activity Compensation Panel adding base and market pay. Salary for physician positions is based on a tier scale determined by specialty, grade, and location.

This position is a Tier 1, Table 2 position with a salary range of $223,077 – $400,000 per year.
