OSP Fiber Technician Viaero Wireless is expanding its Fiber Networks and seeks an OSP Fiber Technician in the Kimball/Sidney, Nebraska region.

Base Pay Range $24.00/hr – $27.00/hr

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage, monitor, and inspect underground placement and related construction activities for assigned projects; oversee contractors during construction phases while tracking daily production and material usage.

Serve as the communication link between permitting jurisdictions, contractors, sub‑contractors, the Viaero Fiber Construction Manager, and the Construction Supervisor.

Ensure compliance with project safety, permitting requirements, and specifications.

Manage and direct all aspects of contractor installation and build of the Viaero Fiber Network.

Coordinate material delivery and maintain project documentation.

Observe construction crew activities, inspect workmanship relative to plans and specifications, and document and coordinate sub‑contractor bore profiles.

Manage permits, agreements, roadside safety across the project; produce daily production reports, track material receipts, and reconcile drawings.

Create red‑line construction drawings, record red‑line units and routing, and keep updates current.

Maintain required project units, inspection forms, and provide weekly results including photos to the Project Manager.

Assist in fiber installation, splicing, and testing of fiber‑optic cables and network facilities.

Execute utility locating_method as required, performing conflict standby for contractors excavating near existing network areas.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred experience inspecting OSP (outside‑plant construction).

Preferred fiber‑optic or construction experience and/or training.

Will travel and stay outside the home area for weekday or weekend work as required.

Perform manual tasks requiring frequent walking, stooping, crouching, reaching, lifting, digging, pushing,212 pulling; lift up to 60 lbs.

Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

At least 21 years old and able to pass pre‑employment checks (background, motor vehicle record, substance screening).

Proficiency with iPad and laptop for required duties.

Proficiency withInvalidate web‑based time‑tracking, expense reporting, and training applications.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Attention to detail and a desire to excel.
