Job Description Binghamton University's Division of Nursing, located at the newly renovated, state‑of‑the‑art health sciences campus in Johnson City, New York, is hiring for its Nursing program and invites applicants for full‑time, campus‑based, 10‑month faculty appointments. This position requires direct supervision of pre‑licensure nursing students in clinical settings and may require day and evening availability.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Instruction and guidance to undergraduate nursing students in classroom, clinical, lab practice, and/or simulation setting.
Planning clinical experiences on a weekly basis for undergraduate students.
Communicating clinical expectations and requirements to students, faculty, program director, clinical placement coordinator(s) and clinical facility/community agency.
Written and oral evaluation of undergraduate nursing student(s) on clinical expectations and performance in the clinical setting using established rubrics.
Adhering to DSON Undergraduate Nursing Program Policies and policies set for affiliated faculty with clinical sites.
Role model professional behavior for students at all times.
Participating in all team meetings for assigned courses.
Participation in faculty governance as required by Faculty By‑Laws.
Maintain all credentialing for clinical affiliates where clinical supervision is taking place.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications (Required)
Master's Degree or higher in Nursing
Current, unencumbered nursing license in NY and/or PA
Two or more years' clinical experience in one or more specialty areas: acute care medical‑surgical, mental health/psych, community health geriatrics, maternal‑child, pediatrics
Ability to supervise students on day and or evening shift at least 4 days/week
Preferred Qualifications
Matriculation in a doctoral program or an earned doctorate from an accredited university
Previous teaching experience
Background in maternal‑child, pediatric, and/or mental health nursing
