Inpatient Anesthesia Department , you will expand your skillset by working on a wide variety of cases including orthopedic, vascular, burns, cardiothoracic (specific team), neurology, ENT, general/abdominal, robotic, gynecology, EP, IR, MRI, burn tank, brachytherapy, and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).

What You’ll Do

Precept Student Nurse Anesthetists – opportunity to mentor and assess these medical students.

Use medical decision‑making skills to determine an appropriate patient care plan, ensuring peri‑operative and anesthesia care is sensitive to co‑morbidities and age & developmental guidelines.

Collaborate with the medical team when needed for effective team‑based care; uphold patient safety, drive quality improvement, and promote infection prevention.

Document and maintain patient records in compliance with hospital standards, ensuring confidentiality.

Maintain scheduling flexibility, readiness, and punctuality to deliver timely patient care.

Exhibit professionalism through teamwork, collaboration, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Contribute to cost containment efforts by conserving resources.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Function under the regulatory mandate from your respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.

CRNA Requirements

Graduation of an accredited nurse anesthesia program; Master’s Degree or higher required.

Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing + currently certified or recertified to practice as a nurse anesthetist by the National Board.

Current CPR Certification – ACLS, BLS.

Ability to demonstrate clinical competency within the scope of granted privileges.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse clinical teams.
