Metallurgical Lab Tech I – 2nd Shift (1:30 pm – 10:00 pm)
Allfast Fastening Systems LLC is looking for a Metallurgical Lab Technician I to work on the second shift at 15200 Don Julian Road, City of Industry, CA 91745, USAartor subdivision. This full‑time, hourly position offers a pay range of $19.00–$29.86 per hour.

Job Summary The Metallurgical Laboratory Technician I performs testing of setup and in‑process parts using metallurgical laboratory equipment, precision measuring tools, and gauges. This role supports Allfast Fastening Systems’ AS9100 Quality Management System and NADCAP accreditations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read, interpret and execute applicable procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
Ensure all test equipment stylesheet material is maintained in good working condition and calibration is current.
Follow all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
Perform preventive maintenance, document equipment checks, and report non‑conforming conditions.
Carry out dimensional examinations in accordance with defined requirements and document results.
Prepare metallographic samples using lathe, cutters, and grinders (sectioning, mounting, grinding/polishing, etching).
Prepare and maintain etchants used in metallographic evaluations.
Evaluate and document metallographic mounts.
Support internal and external audits as directed by the Quality Manager.
Participate in internal round‑robin and proficiency tests.
Track consumable supplies inventory critical to the quality function and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
Maintain knowledge of internal Quality and lab procedural requirements (NADCAP, AS9100).
Store and maintain quality records and retained laboratory samples per procedures.
Adhere to the company’s commitment to quality and safety.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Work weekends and extended hours at month and quarter end as needed.
Qualifications Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Reasoning Abilities : Apply common sense understanding to carry integrative instructions and perform complex duties requiring independent judgment.
Blueprint Reading : Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Other Qualifications : Skilled in setting up and using metallurgical equipment (cut‑off saw, bench lathe, automatic grinders and polishers, metallographic microscopes, micro‑hardness tester, plating thickness machine); use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers; understand manufacturing work orders.
Computer Skills : Computer literate, familiarity with spreadsheet and word‑processing software.
Education and Experience : High school diploma or GED; minimum three years of experience in quality within a manufacturing organization; zero to three years in mechanical/metallurgical/metallographic laboratory experience (preferably in an aerospace fastener manufacturing environment).
Physical Demands : Requires regular standing, walking, kneeling or crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of vision, hearing, and hands is necessary.
Compensation Second‑shift differential included. Pay range: $19.00 – $29.86 per hour. Compensation may vary with qualifications, experience, and location. Additional incentives such as equity, commissions, or variable bonuses may apply.
