The Sumners Pulmonary MedSurg (A4) Unit at Highpoint Health is a 24‑bed unit specializing in the care of patients with pulmonary diseases. In addition to pulmonary conditions, the unit provides exposure to a variety of other patient disease processes, offering a broad spectrum of medical‑surgical care.
Key Features
Specialization: Focused on treating patients with a range of pulmonary conditions, including COPD, asthma, pneumonia, and other respiratory illnesses.
Comprehensive Care: Provides high‑quality care for a diverse array of medical conditions, enhancing the unit’sđenje expertise and patient care capabilities.
Collaborative Environment: A4 fosters a strong team‑oriented culture where collaboration and support are integral to daily operations.
Professional Growth: The unit offers an exceptional learning and teaching environment, benefiting both experienced nurses and new graduates.
Learning Opportunities
For New Graduates: A supportive setting for new nurses to transition from academia to practice, gaining practical experience under the guidance of seasoned professionals.

Qualifications And Requirements
Applicants should have a current State of Tennessee or Multi‑State Registered Nurse licensure and possess an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree or RN Diploma in Nursing.
Additional Requirements Include
ustomably BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) – required to be current upon hire ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
Handle with Care preferred.
