Job Description Summary We are hiring maintenance professionals to manage all aspects of the general maintenance function to ensure safe working conditions and meet or exceed regulatory compliance. Partner with management to create and maintain a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
Perform basic mechanical repairs: plumbing, lighting, heating, air conditioning, and more.
Check, install, and repair equipment such as chain feed systems, line auger feed systems, Rotem controllers, watering and ventilation systems, generators, wells, and septic systems.
Repair wooden structures, work with chicken wire, replace electrical and plumbing fixtures, cut plexiglass for aluminum frames, routine building maintenance, grease equipment, ensure proper operation and repair when needed, work with PVC waterline and fittings, and install Cat6 wiring.
Qualifications
Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, flooring, masonry, electrical speaks welding, roofing, machinery, mechanics, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).
Ability to use basic hand tools.
Read, understand, and follow task‑specific instructions such as Lock‑out/Tag‑out procedures.
Own tools: basic socket set, wrenches, skill saw, grinder, drill, sawzall, volt meter, level, tape measure.
Team player with strong verbal skills and a positive attitude.
Physical Requirements
Walk and stand for extended periods.
Use measuring and hand tools for precise cutting.
Move safely over uneven terrain, rough ground, and floors with shavings.
Carry/lift objects up to 40 lbs., including lumber and metal building materials.
Perform repetitive tasks requiring hand/wrist dexterity.
Use an aerial lift with a fall restraint system at about 20 ft.
Pick up materials at ground level and apply 50 lbs. of force to push carts.
Frequent kneel/squat and work at floor level or on knees.
Use fixed and portable ladders (step and extension) and various tools: drills, hammers, saws, metal grinders, blowtorches, and welders.
Wear personal protective equipment: ear muffs, ear plugs, safety glasses, welding helmets, work gloves, work boots, harness, etc.
Drive a maintenance van to and from work sites.
Work Conditions
Exposure to airborne particles such as dust and dander.
Exposure to noise, sometimes exceeding the 85‑dBA action level set by OSHA.
Exposure to chemicals such as detergents and disinfectants.
Exposure to extreme temperatures: very hot, very cold, snow, sleet, ice, etc.
Exposure to farm‑related smells and foul odors.
