Position Overview Manifest and load outbound shipments for customers and unload and manifest inbound loads from the SAN Wet Plant. Remove or enter any needed information according to company indi.
Essential Responsibilities
Unloading:
Unload incoming trailers, perform a 100% inspection of pallets and product, complete manual paperwork and RFGEN reports, adjust as needed, consolidate partial pallets, and verify accuracy.
Loading:
Pick loads using RFGEN to locate FEFO items, match trailer numbers, stage and inspect loads, print BOL and packing slips, apply customer labels, secure load with airbags, straps, and load bars, and verify all paperwork.
Conduct 100% inspections, walk pallets with flashlight, inspect for pests and damage, and ensure all items match computer data.
Participate in team development, communication, and implementation of company policies; attend team meetings; support Simmons Operating System principles and objectives.
Perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives.
Physical & Safety Requirements
Work in temperature extremes (‑40 to >100 °F), dry and noisy environment, on feet and/or forklift for the entire shift.
Lift or move product up to 55 lb repeatedly.
Climb stairs/ladders as needed.
Use PPE: head covering, ear plugs, skid‑resistant shoes, steel‑toe shoes, forklift seat belt, and other required protective equipment.
Experience & Education Preferred Technical Experience:
Shipping and receiving, large moving equipment.
Industry Experience:
Warehouse Shipping and/or Receiving.
Minimum Education:
English proficiency, basic math, and forklift certification.
Preferred Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
