Position Overview A San Antonio–based civil engineering and general contracting firm is seeking a tenured Construction Superintendent to oversee a retail renovation project in El Paso, Texas. This is a permanent, full-time position for an experienced field leader who excels at managing active job sites, coordinating trades, and delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. Travel to multiple sites will be required as projects progress.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for retail renovation projects
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project managers
Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies
Monitor schedules, budgets, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle
Conduct daily site meetings and progress reporting
Review plans, specifications, and change orders for constructability
Resolve field issues quickly and effectively to maintain project momentum
Ensure timely completion of punch lists and project closeout activities
Qualifications
10+ years of experience
as a Construction Superintendent (retail or commercial renovation preferred)
Strong background in
general contracting and civil construction
Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and fast‑paced renovation schedules
Thorough knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety regulations
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Willingness and ability to
travel to multiple job sites
as required
