Summary This position is responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining LACT, terminal and rail loading equipment. Ensuring equipment is in good working order is crucial to the facility operations. Equipment includes, but is not limited to; pumps, motors, valves, meters, and flow computers. The safe transfer of crude oil and petroleum products to and from shore tankage, tanker truck and railcar in compliance with federal, state and company regulations, procedures, guidelines, and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safe and efficient operations of all PRT assets protecting employees, the public, the environment, company assets and customer assets.

Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Ensure conformance with all company policies, procedures, and principles of operational safety.

Coordinate with supervision, operations and office personnel on operational topics. Including equipment failures, process upsets, Product movements, and operational changes.

Perform preventative maintenance on all types of control, measurement and instrumentation equipment

Troubleshooting of process equipment and instrumentation.

Repair of process equipment including meters, valves, transmitters, valve actuators and associated equipment

Calibration of transmitters and valve actuators.

Programming of flow control computers and process control systems on Lacts and rail rack.

Assist Maintenance technicians with other maintenance and repair duties.

Maintain records utilizing internal tracking systems to document all associated work.

Complete daily, weekly, and/or monthly inspections/reports to include, but not limited to, inspection reports, incident reports, and potential hazard/near miss reports.

Communicate with third party contractors when working around the facility.

Must be detailed orientated, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining a safe work environment.

Maintain cleanliness of terminal equipment and work area.

Ensure facility buildings, equipment, and surrounding areas are in safe and clean working conditions, remove and dispose of trash, perform grounds maintenance, and perform repairs as directed.

Identify, report, and correct safety / environmental / regulatory concerns per company policy and procedure.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by your Supervisor or Manager.

Special Considerations

Associates degree in Instrument Technology, Electric Technology or equivalent is preferred.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required

Minimum 5 years’ experience of electrical repair with proficiency in instrument systems, gas detection, process analyzers, control valves, motor controls, relay logic, fiber optics, and pressure/flow measurement.

Knowledge of national electrical codes

Ability to understand equipment manuals, specification sheets, P&ID’s and loop sheets.

Requires prolonged walking, sitting, bending, stooping and telephone/radio communications.

Must be able to work in severe weather conditions.

Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally.

Requires on-call availability at all hours.

Requires ability to respond to emergencies at all hours.

Maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residence.

Working Conditions

Driving, walking, and standing frequently

Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting

Ability to walk and work on uneven surfaces.

Employee will be expected to work five eight-hour days or a 12 hour rotating shift at management's discretion.

The employee is expected to work overtime and will be subject to call out.

Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
