Microbiologist II Location: Northbridge, MA (will also visit the Watertown, MA facility 2–3 times per month).

About the Role As a key member of the Microbiology team, you will monitor ISO‑classified cleanroom environments and manage critical utility samples. Your work supports the development and commercialisation of innovative therapeutics for serious retinal diseases.

Primary Responsibilities

Monitor ISO‑classified cleanroom environments.

Manage samples and gather critical utility samples.

Perform data trending and write excursions.

Conduct USP endotoxin extraction and LAL testing.

Write and revise SOPs and forms.

Assist with USP growth promotion.

Perform water testing (LAL, TOC, bioburden, conductivity).

Test biological indicators.

Follow cleanroom gowning procedures.

Conduct microbial enumeration.

Disinfect and sterilise tools and equipment (steam and cold).

Depyrogenate materials.

Coordinate with CTLs.

Isolate bacteria, mold, and yeast.

Develop and execute additional assays and activities as required.

Qualifications

Aseptic technique.

Experience working in a GMP‑regulated industry.

Good documentation practices.

Knowledge of ISO 14644‑1 and ISO 11737/11137 (Gamma).

Sharps safety.

Proficiency with pipetting.

Experience streaking for isolation.

Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree preferred (a combination of education and experience may be considered).

• Preferred field of study: Biology, Microbiology, Virology, or Chemistry.

• Minimum of 3 years of quality control/microbiology experience.

Compensation Target salary range: USD $94,760.00 – $119,480.00 per year.
