About the Role:
The Litigator, Civil Litigation Attorney, or Litigation Associate is responsible for managing all phases of complex civil litigation matters, including contract disputes, real estate litigation, tort claims, and commercial litigation. This role supports a diverse caseload and requires strong litigation judgment, exceptional legal writing skills, and the ability to manage cases independently from inception through resolution. The position is ideal for an experienced attorney who is proactive, highly organized, and committed to delivering outstanding client service.
Responsibilities:
Manage all phases of civil litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, hearings, depositions, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
Draft and review legal pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and correspondence with a high level of accuracy and clarity.
Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
Handle matters involving contract disputes, real estate litigation, commercial litigation, and tort claims.
Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategy and case development.
Manage case files, deadlines, and litigation calendars to ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Collaborate with internal legal teams while independently managing assigned matters.
Maintain a strong commitment to ethical practice, professionalism, and client service.
Qualifications:
Five or more years of experience handling civil litigation matters.
Demonstrated experience managing cases through all stages of litigation.
Strong legal writing, drafting, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast paced legal environment.
Excellent verbal communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Highly organized, detail oriented, and proactive in managing workload.
Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with bankruptcy related litigation or proceedings.
Judicial clerkship experience, preferably in federal court or a state appellate court.
Experience handling complex commercial or real estate litigation matters.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team oriented legal environment while maintaining independent case responsibility.
