SGI Global is seeking a part‑time Facility Security Officer (FSO) to join our Corporate team. The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for managing and administering the company’s security program in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule government regulations and contractual requirements. This role serves as the primary liaison between the organization and government security representatives, ensuring the protection of classified information, personnel, facilities, and information systems.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility security matters with government agencies and customers, including but not limited to annual security and compliance audit
Administer and maintain the company’s security program in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule, including but not limited to administering required security trainings throughout the year
Manage personnel security processes, including clearance processing, visit requests, incident reports, and access determinations through DISS
Manage personnel security upgrades and reinvestigation through NBIS/eAPP
Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and annual refresher training for cleared employees
Maintain the company’s facility clearance (FCL) through NISS
Prepare for, support, and respond to government security reviews, audits, and inspections
Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standard operating instructions
Investigate and report security incidents, violations, and potential compromises in accordance with reporting requirements
Maintain security records, databases, and documentation with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
Coordinate with internal leadership, HR, IT, and contracts teams to ensure security compliance across programs
Support classified contract start‑up and closeout activities
Stay current on changes to security regulations and ensure timely implementation across the organization
Other related duties as assigned and within scope.
Qualifications
U.S. citizenship
Active security clearance at the Top‑Secret level
Experience serving as an FSO or in a security‑related role within a government contracting environment
Completion of FSO training for non‑possessing facilities through the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA)
Working knowledge of government security regulations and compliance requirements
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat Professional
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with security databases and systems (e.g., DISS, NISS, eAPP/NBIS Scattered Castles)
Familiarity with multiple agency security requirements (DoD, IC, civilian agencies)
Prior experience supporting classified government consulting or professional services contracts
