SUMMARY OF POSITION: Knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy‑duty and light‑duty trucks. This may include gasoline, diesel and green fuel (CNG) systems. May include welding and fabrication.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations. Review and complete repairs identified on DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and/or repair orders.
Communicate with managers and drivers regarding vehicle issues and discuss preventive techniques that minimize future repairs.
Complete all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Conduct repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals.
Maintain a high standard of ethics and dependability.
Provide assistance and guidance to assistant technicians and shop helpers as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of suspension inspections, diagnosis and repair.
Knowledge of brake system inspections, diagnosis and repair.
Knowledge of electrical system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
Knowledge of hydraulic system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools with the ability to interpret and make repairs from service manuals.
Ability to complete work within suggested repair times (SRTssales) and estimate time and material required for repairs.
Knowledge to provide assistance and guidance to assistant technicians and shop helpers.
CDL Class B (preferred within 12 months).
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend and participate in corporation‑sponsored training courses as assigned.
Keep up to date on current technology used by Waste Pro suspected of the job.
Perform any additional job duties assigned by the supervisor.

Exposure to chemical and residential waste.
Walking, jogging, twisting, crouching, lifting.
Enough stamina for a steady work pace throughout the day.

Physically able to rise and sit from the cab of a commercial motor vehicle 50–100 times per day.
Physically able to lift 50 to 75 pounds from floor to waist height unassisted.
Physically able to lift 50 pounds from floor to shoulder height unassisted.
Physically able to lift 50 pounds from the floor to overhead unassisted.
Physically able to push and pull 50 pounds unassisted.
Physically able to bend at the knees and waist 100– runs a day.
Physically able to reach over or out with extended arms to perform work 100–200 times a day.
Physically able to twist at the waist to perform work
lecturers 1–200 times a day.
Physically able to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions (road calls).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is insidekennaro outside with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
