Job Overview Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The role performs heavy‑duty mechanical repair under general supervision, receiving on‑job training in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
Gains experience by working on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune‑up, and general maintenance with minimal supervision.
Works on major components with close supervision.
Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
Attends training sessions and meetings.
Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of company tools.
Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Any person performing the position while under the influence of marijuana or any other illegal drug may constitute a threat to health or safety or result in injury, illness, or death, especially in roles that include operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, motor vehicles, or handling hazardous materials and/or waste as part of the job duties.
Qualifications
CDL preferred.
Minimum three years hands‑on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
