Concrete Estimator - Commercial Construction Position Overview
We are seeking a
Concrete Estimator
with commercial construction experience to support accurate, competitive bids across structural and flatwork concrete projects. This role requires strong takeoff skills, a solid understanding of concrete means and methods, and the ability to identify risk, gaps, and cost‑saving opportunities. This position works closely with operations, project management, and field leadership to ensure estimates translate smoothly into execution.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed, full‑scope concrete estimates from plans and specifications
Perform quantity takeoffs for foundations, slabs, walls, columns, decks, and structural concrete
Analyze drawings to identify scope gaps, constructability issues, and risk
Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
Support value engineering and cost‑saving initiatives
Assist with bid reviews, project handoffs, and budget setup
Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and pricing trends
Qualifications
3+ years of estimating experience in commercial concrete construction
Strong understanding of concrete materials, sequencing, and production rates
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings
Proficiency with estimating software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Stack, Excel, etc.)
Detail‑oriented, analytical, and deadline‑driven
Strong communication and coordination skills
