We are seeking a driven and experienced Planner Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Pelzer, SC, supporting Vertiv’s rapidly expanding operations. This is a critical leadership role within our manufacturing facility, focused on driving operational excellence, team performance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for the materials planning function relating to the planning, buying, and expediting of spare parts to meet North America Vertiv Services operational objectives and customer requirements.
Manage, direct, and motivate the global material planning team to ensure the availability of materials (parts, batteries, and tools) to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
Manage inventory to meet North America Vertiv Services inventory performance requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct all planning, buying, and expediting functions.
Oversee Material Planning associates in N.A. and BCC (Manila). Manage performance, conduct performance reviews. Train material planners in planning techniques, Oracle EBS, Cyberplan, and other related tools.
Set aggressive Inventory Turnover (ITO) improvement goals and report results on a regular basis.
Ensure customer service and inventory levels are within stated objectives and goals. Maintain appropriate stock in regional warehouses to maximize customer requirements and shortened delivery time.
Develop stocking plans for new products. Work with Procurement to establish sources of supply. Consult with Technical Support to determine critical parts to stock.
Lead material planning projects with global business units. Share best practices, analyze data, and lead projects to improve customer service levels and inventory performance measures across multiple global business units.
Develop and maintain a productive work team through training and professional development programs. Apply sound assessment for promotions, wage increases or performance issues. Associate management including Performance appraisals, systematic feedback and documentation of performance, recruitment, overtime control, proper workload assignment and communication meetings.
Point of contact for Part expedites and stock out issues.
Analyze reports, refine processes and procedures, and develop long term strategies to support continuous improvement.
Develop appropriate KPIs in measuring Planner performance.
Develop new methods for analyzing information to improve parts availability.
Develop strategies to control, prevent and reduce slow/obsolete material. Perform quarterly E&O review.
Oversee team which creates Non-stock PO’s.
Develop End of Life and initial provisioning strategies for the phase in/out of component requirements for new and obsolete products.
Lead analysis of Last Time Buy purchases to maximize customer expectations and minimize inventory investment. Monitor and lead team to analyze material availability issues for end of service life.
Utilize eProcurement to manage supplier communication and performance tracking. Participate in Supplier performance reviews.
Prepare monthly inventory plan and monthly & fiscal year end scrap analysis reports.
Support Vertiv Field Service Cycle Count Program.
Provide support for the implementation of supplier development programs (consignment/VMI) and manufacturing certifications (ISO 9000, etc.).
Present parts availability and inventory information to key management at high-level meetings
QUALIFICATION Minimum Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience
7-10 years supervisory experience skilled in team concepts and facilitation
7-10 years material planning, production control, or procurement experience
Experience in purchasing, production control, and/or service required
Highly detail oriented. Strong organizational and analytical skills are critical.
Preferred Qualifications:
C.P.M., CPIM, or CIRM certifications preferred
Understanding of the importance of the raw material inventory levels and its impact to the operational performance of Vertiv
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
Working knowledge of general cost accounting principles, credit reports, and financial statements
Knowledge of formal planning, forecasting, and inventory control techniques is desired
Ability to direct, develop and motivate a global team of salaried associates
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Oracle experience helpful.
Problem solving skills
Ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience
C.P.M., CPIM, or CIRM certifications preferred
