We are hiring a new Licensed Clinician for the Orenda Center, a substance use treatment in an innovative residential and detoxification facility for adults. In this role, you will provide clinical oversight and direct support to clients and program staff, including counselors. This position offers individual and group supervision, case consultation, and professional development to counseling staff, ensuring services are delivered in alignment with licensing regulations, agency policies, and contractual obligations. The Licensed Clinician plays a key role in promoting high-quality care, contributing directly to a positive client experience and a workplace culture rooted in Buckelew’s mission and values.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct comprehensive assessments for Medi-Cal clients and provide individual and group counseling
Ensure documentation meets medical necessity and Medi-Cal compliance standards
Maintain clinical records in accordance with Medi-Cal and agency requirements
Use multiple Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for all clinical documentation
Participate in clinical team meetings and staff development activities
Provide individual and group supervision to counselors and staff
Support case consultation, review treatment plans, and assess diagnoses using ASAM criteria
Facilitate evidence-based therapy groups such as DBT, Seeking Safety, or others as appropriate
Maintain knowledge of Buckelew Programs’ policies and procedures and become familiar with community-based health, legal, and social service resources
Assist with additional clinical service support as needed
Education and Experience
Must be licensed as an MFT, LCSW, or psychologist in the state of California
A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience required
Five or more years of clinical experience in a mental health setting preferred, including crisis management and treatment of a range of child and adult mental health disorders
At least two years of supervisory or administrative experience preferred
Experience with evidence-based and best practice treatment modalities including CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, PCIT, or similar approaches
Experience working with multicultural populations strongly preferred
Skills and Abilities
Fluent in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Strong clinical judgment, professional boundaries, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Skilled in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) at an intermediate level or higher
Experience with multiple EHR systems preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders
Flexible, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Committed to working with individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges
Valid California driver’s license, insurable driving record, and access to an insured personal vehicle
Ability to pass Live Scan fingerprint background check
