Welder / Fabricator (Manufacturing) – County Materials in Green Bay, Wisconsin Job Summary
A Welder Fabricator reads blueprints, cuts/shapes metal, and joins parts using various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc) to build structures or machinery, operating equipment like plasma cutters and cranes while adhering to strict quality and safety standards. Key duties involve material prep, component assembly, using hand/power tools, ensuring weld integrity, and maintaining work records, requiring physical stamina and technical skill with diverse metals. Job Duties / Responsibilities
Cut, bend, and assemble metal parts using blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions Apply MIG, TIG, Arc (SMAW), or Oxy-acetylene techniques to join components Use plasma cutters, shears, ironworkers, drill presses, grinders, overhead cranes, and forklifts Understand technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols Inspect finished welds for structural soundness and to meet specifications Work with various metals (steel, stainless, copper) and lift heavy materials Follow all safety protocols and procedures Complete required paperwork, work orders, and quality checks Work Environment
Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Exposure to moving machinery, electrical hazards, and noisy environments. Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and bending. Lifting and carrying 1040 lbs. pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead. Experience & Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick) Minimum 2 years experience in welding and steel fabrication Ability to read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings Familiarity with fabrication tools and machinery Knowledge of metal properties and welding safety Physical strength, stamina, and good hand coordination for demanding tasks Attention to detail and commitment to quality AWS Certified Preferred
