Reports to: Cardiac Cath Lab Clinical ManagerQualifications and requirements• Basic Life Support certification required. BLS is not required if employee has ACLS.• ACLS required. • One year of experience in radiology in healthcare settings preferred.• AARRT (R) Required on hire AND AZ Medical Radiology License required on hire (Original AZ license must be at facility to begin employment)• Associates degree of a Program in Discipline required. Essential Functions Implements, recommends, delegates and coordinates special procedures care to a group of patients. Prepares special procedures lab and sterile table for various procedures. Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross-contamination. Checks emergency equipment each day. Performs daily Quality Control on equipment. Responsible for ordering supplies and maintain inventory in a cost effective manner. Puts all exams in Taken status immediately after completion of exam. Checks ancillary audit trail daily to assure all charges are correct. Positions and preps patient for procedures. Assures all consents, H & P are available prior to procedure. Monitors patient condition during procedure by observation, EKG, and blood pressure via physiological monitor. Coordinates patient monitoring with procedure nurse. Positions equipment according to physician instructions. Analyzes and interprets data for physician reports. Be able to route images to PACS and burn CD's as necessary. Assures terminal cleaning of special procedures room has been completed by Environmental Services when procedure is completed. Explains procedures to patients and family to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. Checks patients' chart to confirms order and checks armband and two patient identifiers-name and birthdate.Non-Essential Functions Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, projects and committees as recommended. Work scheduled shifts and overtime as necessary. Request and put away supplies.Key in work orders to Engineering, IT, Environmental Services. Receptionist duties as necessary. Transport duties as necessary. Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
