The Systems Specialist is responsible for assisting in managing, maintaining, and supporting critical operational systems across the credit union. This role ensures system reliability, supports end‑users, assists with integrations, performs testing, and handles a wide range of application‑level tasks across multiple departments. The Systems Specialist works closely with IT, Operations, Lending, Accounting, and third‑party vendors to ensure processes run smoothly and securely.
Key Responsibilities 1. Application Access & Password Management
Primary contact for system access issues across all designated applications.
Maintain secure access processes and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Manage access reviews, privilege changes, and removal of unauthorized access.
2. System & Application Administration
Support and assist in administering systems including ImageCenter, Envisant, Synergy, CPS, MeridianLink, DocuSign, State National, nCino, Acensus, Symitar, JHA iPay, Banno, MessagePay, CARM Pro, Synapsys, Navigator, Fiserv Signature, and others.
Work with vendors for troubleshooting, updates, and issue resolution.
Update and maintain system documentation.
3. Departmental Support & Cross‑Functional Responsibilities
Assist with shifting responsibilities from business units to Systems.
Support Visa balance transfers, documentation processes, rate changes, lending limit changes, JHA Marketplace pulls, and XDI approvals.
Become proficient with EZ Writer and reporting tools.
Provide cross‑department system support.
4. Interface, File Transfer & Batch Job Monitoring
Monitor all FTP jobs used throughout the credit union.
Validate successful inbound/outbound transmissions.
Coordinate fixes with IT or vendors.
Ensure automated processes run reliably.
5. Testing, Quality Assurance & Release Management
Perform release testing for product updates and vendor changes.
Validate documents, workflows, and integrations.
Coordinate review and testing with applicable departments.
Confirm sign‑offs before deployment.
6. Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for automation and improved workflow.
Recommend and document improvements.
Maintain procedure documentation for consistency.
Other Duties as Assigned
The Systems Specialist may be assigned additional tasks or responsibilities based on operational needs, system changes, or evolving business requirements.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Tech degree or 2 years of college.
Equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered.
Minimum Qualifications
Sandbox experience with strongly financial institution systems, preferably Symitar.
Strong attention to detail and adherence to policy’s and procedures.
Ability to learn new systems quickly.
Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results in a fast‑paced environment.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Symitar/Episys or similar systems.
Familiarity with FTP/SFTP workflows.
Experience with release testing or quality assurance.
Ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
