Job Summary
PT with Neuro Experience needed for Spaulding. Seeking neurologic physical therapist experienced in treating complex neurological and neurodegenerative diagnoses. Collaborate with multidisciplinary neuro team comprised of PT, OT, SLP, and social work. Competence in vestibular rehab preferred. Responsible for planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part. They will be responsible for Physical Therapy Students and Physical Therapy Assistants, as well as training new staff as needed. Does this position require patient care? Yes. Essential Functions
Establishes therapy goals and formulates a treatment plan based on evaluation results. Supervises PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations. Provides individual, family and group therapy sessions for clients engaged in outpatient therapy. Participates in the interdisciplinary group for hospice patients and the case conference meetings for home health patients. Participates in discharge planning. Provides initial assessment of clinical needs using standardized tools and protocols and facilitates recommendations for treatment. Records all pertinent data in the patient’s medical records. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy required; Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy preferred or Doctorate Physical Therapy preferred. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No. Licenses and Credentials: Physical Therapist (State License) – Generic – HR Only required. Basic Life Support (BLS Certification) – Data Conversion – Various Issuers preferred. Experience: Experience working as a physical therapist in a hospital, rehab, or ambulatory setting – 1–2 years required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of medical terminology; excellent organizational skills; familiarity with electronic medical record systems; communicating effectively in writing; teaching others; problem‑solving, case management and communication skills; knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
