Ophthalmic Consultants of Vermont (OCV) is a highly respected private practice specializing in medical and surgical eye care. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and compassionate *Senior Ophthalmic Medical Technician* to join our clinical team.
In this advanced clinical role, you will work closely with our surgeons and leadership team to deliver exceptional patient care, support complex clinical workflows, and serve as a resource and mentor to junior technicians. This position is ideal for a skilled ophthalmic professional looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative and patient-centered practice.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Perform comprehensive patient work-ups, including detailed history taking, visual acuity testing, refractions, and advanced diagnostic measurements
* Conduct ophthalmic testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, etc.) and assist with in-office procedures and pre/post-operative care
* Serve as a medical scribe during patient encounters, ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the EHR
* Triage patient calls, assess clinical concerns, and manage prescription refill requests
* Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to existing and new hires
* Assist with maintaining clinical protocols, quality standards, and compliance
* Being comfortable and efficient in handling phone calls
* Foster a compassionate, professional environment that reflects OCV’s commitment to excellence in patient care
* Opportunities for specialized training and cross-functional growth as an *Oculoplastic Assistant* and *Refractive Surgery Coordinator*
* Hands-on exposure to oculoplastic procedures, refractive surgery workflows, patient education, and surgical coordination

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
