1.1 Measurement of Individual Parts The Metrologist Expert shall: Perform dimensional inspections of mechanical parts using CMM, laser tracker, portable arm, optical scanners, or other calibrated instruments. Verify conformity against 2D drawings, 3D CAD models, GD&T specifications, and product tolerances. Generate detailed measurement reports including deviations, pass/fail status, and traceability. Provide recommendations to engineering and production in case of non-conformities. 1.2 Measurement of Jigs and Tooling Inspect jigs, fixtures, assembly tools, and locating devices to ensure they meet design specifications and manufacturing tolerances. Validate alignment points, datum structures, and functional dimensions. Support maintenance teams for jig re-calibration, periodic verification, and requalification. 1.3 Measurement of Parts Installed in Jigs (Assembly Check) Execute in-jig measurements to confirm proper positioning, alignment, and build sequence compliance. Identify assembly deviations (gap, flush, profile, hole patterns, etc.). Record data to support first article inspections (FAI) and production validation
