We are looking for a
Principal Accountant
to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Accountant to serve as a senior individual contributor within their accounting function. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining accounting policies, and supporting close and audit processes. The position is hybrid, with a regular onsite presence in Downtown Columbus.
What You’ll Be Doing Own and oversee complex general ledger activities, including month‑end and year‑end close Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Serve as a technical accounting resource, researching and applying accounting guidance as needed Support internal and external audit requests and documentation Assist with process improvements and accounting best practices Collaborate with finance, operations, and leadership teams to support reporting needs Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures
What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 7+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP Advanced experience with general ledger management and financial reporting CPA preferred but not required High attention to detail with the ability to work independently Strong communication skills and comfort working cross‑functionally Experience in a fast‑paced corporate environment is a plus
